thoughts about server 3

hello,

i think, server 3 is one of the most popular server at n-ice.org. I noticed that many players come to this one after the year 2000. I think that it is mainly because of the new trains (monorails), which are then available. How about the server starts from the year 2000 and a goal change to 50M? In my opinion the 5 years (1995-2000) with the old railways are boring.

I agree with you that changes should be made although i'm not too fussed about the 1995 start. Personally i'd like to see an increase in train length because whilst I agree that 20 tiles was too long I don't think that trains should only be a maximum of 7 tiles long. It has affected scoring badly, making it virtually impossible for me to register another in the server top 10, not only this but the reduction also has an effect in the long term meaning players have lost potentially up to a hundred or more points since the last change to the settings. I'd say i'm averaging about 4 points per game less than i was before because of the change. So how about it, guys? Will you please increase the TL to 10?

In order for the "Romanian" to approve the change, he needs to see other oppinions too. So far, you are 2 guys, each one of you demanding his own vision of changing server 3.....

Hmmmm, well, Chucky's idea involves a fundamental change to #3 whereas mine is only a minor tweak. I would agree with waiting for more opinions but consider that the majority of players on #3 aren't even n-ice members, even less of them will post in this thread. Also, I don't think anyone who regularly plays on #3 would disagree with changing the train length to 10.

@ chucky :  Advertise your proposal. Ask them to come to the forum and write their opinion

@ Cossack: I consider this to be a medium move for server 3. Since it is one of the most popular servers that we have, I would like to see myself that most of the people that play on server 3 agree with this. Trying to explain to me that your opinion is so important and nobody would disagree won`t help with this. If you were in my place, I think you`d do the same.

I think if you go to 10 long trains you need to up the company value and performance a bit.

But that will just make the server last longer, when the trains used to have a max train length of 20 the game lengths were exactly the same. It was only the score that was different. There is no need to increase the CV and perf as the # of resources, the map size (which affects money earnt) and start date are all kept the same. Would agree however if you were to change the start date to 2000 as it would even out the boost in revenue from the monos.
