Hi,

Next time try using the !admin command to get an administrators attention, also we need more information about the player in order to do something about it.
You can use the command !players to see more player information such as IP address.

New Server Proposals / 10K City Builder Temperate with no air

Since CB servers are quite popular, perhaps the Xservers could host a 10K CB server? Same limit, setup etc as server 6 but no air.
or maybe instead make server 4 (since it's not used very often) into an arctic CB server (again no air)?


I also suggest we disable air on server 6, often there's ~10 players playing, and everyone surrounds the top 3 biggest cities with airports, taking up way too much space, I personally think trains and RVs are much more fun.

What do you think?

I'm not really sure if it does violate rule 3, because there is tunnels leading in and out of the city center and he did buy the town himself.
It is 4 different stations, so it's not really done to increase coverage.

Maybe it could be said that it violates rule 4, but the intention doesn't seem to be to block others out, they could still transfer via busses/trucks to the outside via the already built tunnels.

I would love to hear other admins opinion.


Rule #3: Don't build stations or station parts that serve the sole purpose of increasing the coverage area, sabotaging other players, increasing the station/town rating or decreasing the distance to another station.

Rule #4: Don't block other players. Reserving land to keep others out of a place is also considered blocking, as is placing obstructions in front of where others are currently building.Occupy at maximum 50% of the space around a PRIMARY industry/town.

You weren't following the rules, you built a train just to destroy his road vehicles, that will not be tolerated.

I warned you multiple times.

All skw did was buy "Road construction" which isn't a violation of the rules, however building trains just to sabotage others is, aswell as revenge:

Rule #11: Don't take revenge, call an admin by writing !admin in the chat instead or use the vote commands, type !help to see a list of available commands.

*IF* you had just listened to me and removed the trains, when I asked you to, I would've told skw to play nice, however he wasn't violating any rules.

PS. You SUCK MASSIVELY because of the poor listening skills. :)

Very interesting idea, of course it's only useful when the server restarts (as mentioned), so time doesn't pass by while there are no companies.

I however disagree that AFK players would count as offline, I can only see this being useful when the server is empty, and only right after a restart, because if there's like a few years left till an automatic restart happens, it's no good if it's paused.. what if people are waiting to start a company after the server restarted.

Afaik, OpenTTD doesn't have a setting for this, but if should be fairly easy to do with a script, which is already included in xShunter.

I'm pretty sure Batt's reply is correct, however if you disagree, the right place to post such bug is to the OpenTTD dev team, see http://www.openttd.org - we cannot correct bugs in the openttd software.

Thanks for reporting this, it should be fixed in the next test phrase, can't exactly say when it'll be though.

While playing on k1 today I noticed that I can make track from outside to inside of claimed area and the system didn't demolish my tracks, while if I start building inside they works as expected.

Thanks for all your info, I only chose to respond to some of them, as the rest is about server settings, these doesn't need responses and will be taken into consideration as for the server settings.

1) Station-walking not working on first server. It should be turned on. I cant imagine playing on CB without it. I also wanted to mention only 5 length of station but I understand that you want to have balance between goal and resources, and as a result time of play.
Actually, station-walking should not be allowed at all, this means you can actually deliver water to a different town than your own and it still counts; if you're really talking about satellite stations, the current rules doesn't allow them, and frankly we don't know yet if we are going to allow them on CB servers eventually.

4) I would add diamonds needed for city grow. Lets say from 3500.
It is not possible to add diamonds or any other cargo using GS (game scripts), this would require a patched server, and we want to make a gamescript CB, so we're limited by the features GS supports.. keep in mind that GS is a fairly new in ottd and things might develop over time.

5) and last but not least, points. I won the the game but I didnt get any points. I dont remember what was the reason of it but I was really ... disspointed? (to say the least) 2-3 hours of exciting play and 0 pts gained.  :(
