General / Re: Long Goal Server Disconnect

well, I can understand _bobby_tables_ question:
- in a server "LONG GOAL -15 BIL"
- in a server from 1960-2080 (120 years), it's ~27 hours;
- state |~19h| on server name isn't a server average;
- I remember those number been put there, on server name (alex879ro time) and was from not public tests so, biased times, that sadly keep being used!;

Even checking the highscores of server #5, that probably, most of them can be checked for the use of a known cheat. As I remember, I reported it several times, same as other players did!
But that's not the matter, I can explain to Chucky some cheats to be aware as I did to alex879ro.

I can confirm that saw this (Evog) player's actions ingame and that's why instantly banned him on BTPro - for me, it's an unwanted player in any community! Made a 14 day ban, because of the dynamic thing on it ^^

Anyway, decision here, I'll leave it to n-ice admins

About the Grammar, it's simple: most known browsers have features similar to this one:
(browser in Portuguese to check spelling on English (this case))


About the rest, imo, poll discussion about the rules are only to be discussed among admins - that's the reason some players are admins and others aren't - Opinions are and will always be welcome.
I still remember when I was admin on n-ice, and competition was allowed on secondary resources, for goods. And I tried to change it, I even gave some other possibilities in the time!!

Anyway, I think open a poll in a case to ALL players give opinion about it is the same that say that admins can't judge it! Bad suggestion, imo! Forums or threads to make a crowdsource... already exists ^^

Now, understanding all the work Myhorta already had when made this SMF based forum and, using same DB to don't loose data, I recommend the usage of an open based forum/website! Unless you sign up yourself for future updates when needed!

Well, the real suggestion is: Create a Specific Forum Thread to receive admin calls, with savegame (xShunter allows it) and there other players could give an opinion too (sadly, on this matter I gave up of sending chat's and screenshots to other admin, even when player is ingame and doing the same)

PS: ofc that I dnt need to remember that logins/logouts are not sync now between n-ice website and forum - other suggestion ^^

as an OpenTTD player I'll reply:
- "wrong topic" - was the correct one to complain about rule breakers, unless there's another one that n-ice players are not aware of!!
- "wrong arguments" - I posted some rule breakes screenshots (and even called an admin, as Chucky suggested). Let fix my words: are you even able to watch the rule breaks on screenshots?
- "wrong behaviour" - I reported... twice, rule breaks happening, I even called ingame admins to check it. where is the "wrong behaviour"? can you explain to other players how to act then?
- "wrong actions" - I need you to clarify this to the community: I called admin ingame, took screenshots, reported in the "Complaints" topic. If I took "wrong actions", what are the "correct actions"? Players need to know... to don't make same mistake as me!!

other line: "And you bothered players from n-ice again." - I only bother rule breakers, doens't matter the server itself. Chucky, if you care about OpenTTD, better watch that: when a player say something about server rules (specific one, if the case), he's not bothering the player... he's helping admin team.

I don't understand your anger words.
I'm an OpenTTD player that understand each server rules! And I respect the work of each OpenTTD user for the game.
So, as you said, an "Head Admin, Server Admin & Client Developer" reported a serious rule break in your server! And fundmented with screenshots!
but you don't even take a look on the screenshots, neither the players got punished. You only saw that was reported by me, and didn't acted as a real admin!

Note: I can be a head admin of something, server admin of another and client develloper of a 3rd thing.

BUT when I report a serious server rule break here, fundamented with screenshots, I expect admins take actions. Unless admins are protecting rule breakers, the only excuse I found is: ST2 is a "persona no grata" for reporting rule breakers!
But there... I'll quote myself: "I expect admins take actions. Unless admins are protecting rule breakers"

what Naz wans't expecting was that I called an admin for his rule breaks. He done a !afk couple seconds after (manually). It's not for me, but many other players would like to know if this is allowed:"[03:04:41] * +OTTD-8 * !! well, the map was (and I guess still is atm) such a mess that a clean map won't clean that memories!

I don't mind the negative votes but, as an OpenTTD player and with the n-ice rules in act, I think n-ice admins must check a bit better screenoshots provided. Because Chucky's solution of calling an admin was a failure!

Note: I'm still waiting for the measures taken on players/points that started this post - No action = ALL players can break rules around! I got that, and many players too!

well, maybe I've exaggerated a bit on some comments. My fault, my apologies

since I was ingame, I can count myself as a player. calling an admin would be useless, therefore I chose to post a complaint here (fully justified). Hopefully rule breakers get punished (points removal, for example - accompanied by a notice/warning to the player). for now not needed a harder punishement, imo.

if I "bother" any player was because of something started months ago. Won't happens again, along similar lines.

to finish, thank you for your time giving what player deservers, at least for that game

but well, soon you'll get a MM complaint on the Shoutbox that didn't get the points and no one checked how they were get!

and yes, the player got many points and no one checked how the game was! but soon, the same player will ask... for the same!

If this goes on, players notice that's better break rules ingame and complain later for points. not a good way imo ^^

it's not 1st time it happened and I noticed for the reasons in screenshot, that I saw. Hopefully, admins around could spot even more! Therefore, my player complaint.

edit: damn: I'm only at -80, and still I'm the on reporting this?! great... really great

hello

just tried n-ice client and buttons from "x1" to "x6" don't work... despite the fact that are marked as active and running servers!

This causes both our community clients give erroneous buttons to players. And solution is simple!

well, since someone forgot to make it...
server gameplay is this - the one I tested:
- 10 towns - 4 Cities
- industries! yeah, I asked that too!!

Anyway, are players getting points for this city run? Was this map type even tested?

I hope so... I couldn't expect less from Chucky...
he's doing a good job, only missing testing server settings ^^

@ The_Dude: I really must have left your heart broken beyond imagination. But life continues and it's not healthy bring that personal matters to an OpenTTD related forum. Maybe it helps if you talk with a psychiatrist to calm down and get your ideas together.

@ The_Dude: until you quoted some parts of what I said that you can not confirm. maybe to you is normal take opinion on things you didn't even saw happening. but probably we must accept that being great attempt, when was it that destroyed your reply credibility. And I could get some quotes too but as I said, it's worthless to make replies with credibility zero. But ofc, you can try to show that you don't have criteria duality and talk a bit about GPL v2. Remember that?

@ Chucky: about Holischiit, you really believe he's new? he had perfect notion of what was doing, and kept, until you talk! but I saw too other players do the same, and almost on same second you use some command on servers channel. it's impossible not notice the spam! that's why my question, because if it's a cheat, therefore not allowed (wich I agree). almost had the feeling of "two weights and two measures" among the players. Glad we cleared that out.
