Well I know bans are based on IP and nobody just told him that his story didn't add up, instead they just called him out for using Caps lock.

Then you said that he lives "too close" to together which also doesn't make any sense. Also I'm not "Barging in" I was merely posting an opinion on a public discussions forum. If you want complaints to be private use admin tickets or another system.

Why look for a solution to a non existant problem. But you are not willing to see it this way so... end of discussion I guess.

Also you all refer to be the change you want to see, but how are we supposed to do that? We aren't the ones with the administrative privileges so all we can do is "like" or "hate". But when nobody is listening I guess even that is pointless.

ZeroIncome, do you have any actual ideas/suggestions about the problem discussed here? If you have something against this admin team, go and state it in the complaints section, you are going off-topic.

Looks like you admins once again have already decided the ultimate plan of action. Is there really a point to this thread other than calling Aberwyvern out? I must admit you had me fooled.

Also why did you restart the server instead of removing the middle station? Instead of defusing the situation you just let it escalate. But this seems to meet some kind of private agenda. (You just seem to want to remove industry/town funding)

What is wrong in this picture? I checked the detailed rules and as far as I can see he has 1 station too many. Is that it?

I don't agree with disabling founding a new town, since it takes a dynamic out of the game... Also you said he was the only one on the server. Could it be that he was just having some fun since he was playing alone?
Seems a bit of an overreaction to change server settings over such an isolated event.

I think it would be good to make it clear to players that just because they fund an industry doesn't mean they OWN the industry and should still allow for competition of it's resources. This is the only problem with the current mentality as far as I've seen.

He told me that i need out. Yet you were the one who angered me the most on forum....i must admit that...Me giving the whole thing up was because of your arguing....But yet again...u don`t see yourself banned....So i know how to behave....

Don't worry I know you're eagerly waiting for me to make a mistake.

From my point of view....anger should not be considered in this topic. I was angry too for him activating my filters....It was like "Oh...you don`t want to answer....not to worry, i`ll make you." But yet again....i answered all his questions .

If somebody comits a crime cause he was angry.....i don`t see the judges lowering his punishment just because he was angry. And beside....only the half month is for the attitude. Would be better to think why he got the 2 months first and act accordingly. Perhaps if he did that, he wouldn`t have gotten the 2 weeks extra.

Actually in real life criminals follow into anger management courses and when they show improvement do benefit from a sentence reduction (Not during the first trial though). But that's real life and this is a game.

I was just trying to put it into context.

Well the IRC chat looks like he was angry and frustrated and talking without thinking, he was also being faced with a month to 2 month ban which probably didn't help him think straight.

I advise Cossack to cool off and come back with a clear head. I advise the admins to see this for what it is - He is 17 and this looks like typical behavior for that age. Also prolonging his ban by so much based on the insults / rant on IRC I find a little unjust since he obviously wasn't thinking straight. His judgement was clouded by his anger.
I do see that he didn't really show remorse though so ... the ban is justified. Just 2 months... and a half! It's a long time.

Are the bans always this long? If I were banned for 2 months and a half  I probably wouldn't return or is that the idea?

Shouldn't a ban be a punishment to be learned from? Or is it just to keep a player away?

I was also playing on S8 last week, it's a shame there aren't many people there (and as a result not much competition  )

Next - Credit does matter. When you ask your community for suggestion it's nice to give them recognition when you like it. It let's them feel like they made a difference and will encourage further suggestions in the future. This doesn't mean you have to announce it in the title or whatever. As I previously said if you just said something like: "I like these ideas and have formed an idea that I am willing to execute, further discussions here" People would have felt appreciated. In stead you said something that sounded like "Hey check out my idea, good luck with yours" But when I went to check out "your" idea I basically read a summary of the ideas posted here...

Also a Suggestion is just an idea or a hint, not necessarily a fully worked out idea (and a suggestion doesn't need to be turned into a reality either)


As I see it Cossack suggested an idea (sure it was a bit vague, but it sparked a discussion and eventually your great idea) - This is fantastic, this is what the suggestions forum is for (in my opinion).

The only issue was that you were a dick about it. I don't understand if you just lack the people skills, but what you did was just odd.

EDIT: I think you should lock this topic since nothing is good is probably going to come out of it anymore. Instead continue the discussions for Olympics in the mad Olympics thread.

If it's temperate can I suggest making all the edges or two sides of the map water (and boats). It adds a nice dynamic to have oil rigs.
