The reason we turned this off is that it can't be done for only aircraft, it goes for all types of transport. This tends to clutter the depot lists. If you have a good reason we can consider it though :)

Bolsiq is right, as LB9 is the only descent plane able to use small airports without crashing.

Good point! I'll ask Kadar to have a look when I see him and he has time.
Just a hint however: if a desert town/city has the center tile on grass it does not need water to grow. This means that putting 5 bus stops and 2 or so busses driving around will increase the population in just a few game years so you can build a large airport.

Now that I've played some games on this server I fully agree with the LB9 argument. This server is also short enough (faster players 4 to 6 years) so that the other engine lists don't get too long yet. (+ you can always sort/filter those lists if needed).
+1 for airplanes never expires ^.^

I am sorry, but I must disagree to that. Some of the players already complain that it is hard to compete someone who knows the good starts of this server. Allowing you to use LB9 or any kind of plane would provide an imbalance to the gameplay of the server.
