Basically this ideia came up in a game in server #5
1: Start Date - 2 ideias where on the table: keep the same (or 1970) or 1985. Move to a value above 1980 is to get Turner Turbo loco from the beginning, instead of CS2400 for 7/8 years
2: End Date (in case nobody wins it) - in both cases of start date and due the decrease os station/train sizes, necessary to extend it a bit
3: Maximum station and train length - proposed 14 tiles size for couple reasons. 1st. Relieve the load on the server (and therefore in clients too) caused by pathfinder and industry loops (some good wiki reads for players that have problems connecting to servers when game is already in advanced ages). 2nd. Easier to avoid industry blocking (or even the 50% free space stuff and unused station lanes), atm it happens recurrently because of stations size and necessary tracks to serve all lanes.
4: Max train number - Due the spread decrease: 500 (or even 450)
5: Max road vehicle number - related to pont 4. The main ideia is to make players use RV's in short transfers instead of trains, leaving the trains for the main lines or longer transfers.

Already saw some ideias about towns (size, number/ growth), peacefull for me... Don't need to talk about it... again :P But decreasing number of towns and with 1 industry per town (false for multiple_industry_per_town), will generate less industries so, I'll prefer tune the initial_city_size and/or town_growth_rate values

@ Cossack: if you remember properly, I'm a monster of patience with you, because all actions I've take with you where after warned you several times...   :P
If I remember the correct situation, SuperTrans was truly unlucky, because after several tryings to get his attention, when I locked his company... Bamm... a new player enters, create a company... and that slot... pufff...  ;D  (I think is this one)

about L4D2,
I guess it's related with the news that Valve have checked that Open GL is more efficient then Direct3D and even with the actual problems with AMD or Nvidia graphic drivers they decided to develop basically to Linux... because they believe that Windows 8 will be a catastrophe... I don't blame them... because I share of some opinions too  :P

I think it`s still st2. He must have changed ips and voted for it while everybody else was sleeping:)

Ofc I've changed many many times connection IP's... but... in case not noticed... votes are collected by accounts!!  :P

Maximillion is not ruining the fun on server #3... he only uses the initial loan wisely, pax.
I've already checked and when he makes Airport/train station (to get closer to town), he use both, because initial loan allow him to do it...

Until now only saw 1 player using pax service at full power... and that's not with planes!

Since the initial_city_size is already at minimal value, and initial loan equal to all players, not many chances to balance the game!

But all suggestions are welcome :)

In the 1st case it's even easier. Cities are usually grew too. Lot's of resources, fast trains = easy game.
I don't want easy games for some when others had lots of work... "Points system" was the original subject and since that's directly connected to server balance, Batt, what's your suggestion(s)?

Myhorta is right. Btw St2, i don`t agree with Found_Town=0 because if you start the game in 2000 (after 40 years) the number of industries dramatically decreased so basically you need to fund industries and you can`t start searching all over the map on where are the places where industries dissapeared so you can fund a new.It`s simpler to fund a town and then fund an industry even if...it`s quite expensive. However, i would agree with Town Growth Rate decrease.

As for Geert`s complaint, i would advise him to record his data more accurate (no of trains, duration of game, duration of his company.......) and the answers will come themselves
Only to clear out my opinion/suggestions:
- lets seperate primary industries from secundary industries among other important things:
  * primary industries decrease production because not served... if on the "delete" level, they'll disappear, as you noticed and I've warned you about a situation - it's a "some" random code stuff --;
  * -- Same random stuff that makes a 0 pop town grow up, even if have 5 named stations transporting coal; (this parts are funny, but real :P)
  * secundary industries disappear after some time if not served;
  * if you start late, where do you have cash to fund a town and a industry to get a propper profit, as you stated?; (lets NOT give unfair advantages to late starters - they started late... must adapt to the game);
  * continuation of the previous point: what you build for late starts? Pax service! (hope you're getting my point now);
  * it's not other players fault that you'd started in late years, with all advantages of new trains (actual loan allows you that). So, lets try to make game with some advantage to older companies (logical) but with oportunities for new companies;
I could continue and give many reasons... but no need, i think...

- Knights & Merchants - sadly, a gameplay kind that got lost (for what I've played)

well, better say what other games i play myself :P
- Settlers 2 (10th Anniversary version but have the original S2)
- Settlers 4
- Zero Hour
- Age of Empires (several versions, depends of the mood)
- Farm Frenzy 3 (came with this PC and is quite funny :)
- Splinter Cell (Chaos Theory, Double Agent, Conviction)
- Some ROMs under MAME (missings of the pub's machines)
- Commandos (love all)
- Far Cry
- ...

I guess for gamers the list can be huge too  ;D
