Geert, so you agree on leave space for competitor build 2 stations of 20x20 plus the rails?

you quote the #1 option

its handy to have a fixed and know amount of space you have to leave that why i like #2

i never said 20 x 20 for everyone

personaly i dont see a reason why you should change the rules!
The rules are already clear (as you explained to him)
and almost no one breaks them

but if you really want to change something please change city funding.
If you start later in the game many industries are gone so industrie funding is something many players use.

i have used tactics like this in the past. (never used blocking signs and never build more then 4 industries around a station)
i stopped with it for several reasons,

1 -> Alex competed me for every industrie I build on that map and that was very anoying (but in the end I still won :P )
2 -> After some discussions about my city building I  tried never to be in the discussion area again (i hate to discus i prefer to spend my time playing)
3 -> the most important point, I learned to win this game without any problems without making industries and towns. (I only use it when i try out new tactics, or if I want to hit the 1 billion a year barrier)

i dont think you have to change the rules for 1 or 2 players that breake them once in a while.

oke i played now for 2 hours and its fun but waaaay to easy to start so i made list what to change (in my opinion)

- plane speed to 1/3 (now its 1/2)
- set noise limit (now you can build international airports everywhere)
- allow the small airports (the one with grass)
- Terraform limit!!!

- I understand its a choice to have multiple industries per city, but i like 1 per city more. and then the ability to fund industries
- Funding towns/cities
- road layout to improved instead of original
- double the distance for oil refinery (edge of the map)

I did this recap to show you that even if you suggested interesting things.....we still didn`t choose a lot of settings:
1: Start Date & Goal 2015 sounds nice :)
2: End Date(not accepting proposals done without tests) 2150 sounds nice
3: Train Number above 500 I dont think many players will get to 500 anyway (you can count them on 1 hand ;)
4: Road Vehicle Number 500?
5: Flatness degree less mountains then s5 but more hilly then s8
6:Quantity of lakes same as s5
7:Number of towns who will become cities 1 out of 5
8: Plane Speed divider 2 in my opinion it would be stupid to start with planes that are slower then the trains you start with
9: Allow funding cities?why not?
10: Initial city size multiplier smallest with normal that shouldnt be a problem
11: Inflation? please no

if you start with big and many cities i will go bananas with pax (especialy starting late)
